How to object

The Quadrangle, which borders the south side of the garage site, has become a Grade 2 listed building. This is a significant issue for the development of the 8 townhouses.

Due to this important turn of events we are now able to submit further objections, even if you have already objected. Please click on the link below and object to the townhouses on the following grounds.

It’s more powerful to put this in your own words, but if not, feel free to copy and paste –

I object to the building of 8 townhouses on the Dorchester Court garage site because they will permanently damage the setting and relationship of the surrounding Grade 2 listed buildings which includes Dorchester Court, Dorchester House and The Quadrangle. The group significance of these important heritage assets should be preserved. The proposed townhouses completely fail to respect that significance.

The Planning Application

April 9, 2020 1:56 pm Published by

Three years after beginning the consultation process Manaquel Ltd, the landlord, has finally submitted its plans to build 8 townhouses on the garage site and 16 flats on top of the 8 blocks of Dorchester Court.

Manaquel have always ‘sold’ this plan as their way to guarantee Dorchester Court gets fixed. Amazingly, after all the promises, although their planning documents describe the renovation works, they make no concrete commitment to doing them.

Tenants will be evicted, leaseholders will be re-homed for the duration of the works to their blocks, a thriving community will be ripped apart, all to the sole profit of the landlord.
